Getting help

No. We are a low-barrier day center — you can simply walk in during open hours. Everyone is welcome, no questions asked.

We are a day center, but we work closely with overnight shelters across Oakland County and can help you find a bed. Call us at 248.850.3219 or dial 2-1-1.

Nothing. Meals, services, and support at the Welcome Inn are always free.

Yes — anyone in need is welcome. Our case managers can also connect families with family-specific shelters and programs.

Donating

Yes. South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Park in the Crooks Rd. lot and look for the red door marked “Welcome Inn Entrance.”

Bottled water, coffee, and breakfast items are always in demand. Clothing, kitchen items, and janitorial supplies are gratefully accepted — see our wishlists on the Donate page.

Absolutely — give online via PayPal or Venmo, shop our Amazon wishlists, or link your Kroger card to Community Rewards. All options are on the Donate page.

Volunteering

Not at all. We’ll show you everything — most roles just require kindness and a little time.

Yes! Churches, businesses, schools, and families regularly serve together. Mention your group on the volunteer form.
